Our sail training system has two lines of courses:
- Practical courses for developing boat handling, sailing and skippering skills
- Theory courses for providing background knowledge in navigation, seamanship and safety
The three practical sailing courses, Sailing Crew, Inshore Skipper, and Coastal Skipper, comply with the Association of Sailing Instructors in Finland (PORY) externally audited course system. The instructors in these courses are trained and certified by PORY. The theory courses comply with the Royal Yachting Association RYA, Association of Navigation Instructors in Finland, and the Finnish Navigation Association course systems.
Inshore Skipper practical course participants must have completed RYA Day Skipper theory or an Inshore Skipper theory course based on the Finnish training systems.
Similarly, the Coastal Skipper practical course participants are required to have completed RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore theory or a Coastal Skipper theory course based on the Finnish training systems.
